Avocados from Mexico not only provides the primary ingredient for your Super Bowl buffet, the fruit’s marketers also offer an entertaining ad with heart and purpose.
“It all started in 1966 when the legendary Sir Reginald Von Ruff discovered his human would roll over for avocados,” according to the ad’s description on the Avocados from Mexico YouTube page.
“Now, the Human Canine competition has grown into one of the world’s premier events, even appearing in a big game commercial starring Kristin Chenoweth, where dogs train their humans to compete for the ultimate prize: Avocados From Mexico.”
The “Top Dog” ad setting is the “53 Annual Human-Canine Show.” In this competition, however, canines proudly watch as their humans do tricks.
Humans sit, shake, stay and more in hopes of winning a guacamole filled trophy.
A 30-second version of the ad will appear during the Super Bowl. The 60-second version is found online at avocadosfrommexico.com.
The website includes recipes, a dog blog, and a dog adoption tool through Adopt-a-Pet.com. There’s also a chance to tweet and win a grand prize trip and a year supply of avocados.
