WHITEFORD, Md. (WBFF) – A homeowner was injured and 11 animals – ten of them birds – were rescued after a fire in a house trailer in northern Harford County’s Whiteford Wednesday evening.

On a frigid night, firefighters from Whiteford Volunteer Fire Company responded to Prospect Road at Whiteford Road at about 7:38 p.m., according to Harford Fire & EMS Association.

Firefighters and Harford County Sheriff’s Office Animal Control personnel took 10 birds and a cat from the location to be evaluated.

A homeowner was also taken to a local medical facility with non-life-threatening injuries.

Harford County’s public works’ highways division was helping because of icy conditions from water sources at the scene and the water source area.
