BAUXITE, Ark. — A Saline County man wants answers after someone may have poisoned and killed his dog.
These days Logan Milks has a hard time passing the ditch in front of his Bauxite house.
“They were just curled up next to each other,” Milks said, pointing to the ditch.
There along Sardis Road is where he found his 4-year-old lab mix dead, laying next to his neighbor’s dog who was barely alive.
“That’s one of the things that made me think they were poisoned too, the fact that she was still alive but wasn’t waking up, she couldn’t respond to anything and she just slowly drifted off,” he added.
With no obvious injuries Milks believes this wasn’t a coincidence and someone targeted the dogs. He says it’s also concerning that his dog’s collar was off and lying a few feet away.
“No any kind of bullet wounds, no blood, no broken bones,” he said.
Cars speed by the spot off the the rural road, but unless someone comes forward Milks knows what happened will never truly be clear.
“It’s like losing a family member who got murdered,” he said. “You don’t know who did it but you want to know how it happened or who did.”
Both owners don’t plan on doing a necropsy saying they can’t afford the cost.
