Pets of all kinds are one of life’s greatest joys, aren’t they? Coming home to a happy wiggly butt, or a greeting from the many sounds our little furry friends create. What would make that even sweeter is knowing these friends were saved and given another chance at life.

Why Adopt?

Though numbers have decreased over the years, there are about 6.5 million animals brought into shelters nationwide each year with about 1.5 million shelter animals euthanized. Of these numbers, 3.2 million shelter animals are adopted. With raised awareness and help; whether that be in donations, adoptions, volunteered time, or word of mouth, we hope that these numbers will decrease even more with the coming years.

Adopt your new friend

Adopting a new friend can be one of the best decisions you make. As appealing as it is to buy a new puppy of your preferred choice through a breeder or pet store, we deeply urge everyone to check the shelters before that decision. Keep in mind that it won’t always be easy. With every shelter animal, comes a different story and different personalities. With most stories unknown, it’s difficult to acclimate these new friends to a life they’re not used to. It’s important to keep this in mind because these animals need patience, kindness, understanding, and all the love and care they can get.

Let’s Get Personal

Obi

For me personally, my little buddy Obi is the best blessing in my life. Rescued from a shelter in 2015, I can wholeheartedly say it was the best decision I’ve ever made. I went into that shelter with no intention of adopting that day but once when I saw him, I wasn’t going to leave without him. As sweet as he is, he did come with issues that needed fixing. It took a couple of years for him to fully trust me and a lot of patience and discipline for him to become the best boy that he is now. I love that little guy with all of my heart.

The PetFlow family includes many rescued pets and we can all say that they are blessings in our lives. No matter how stubborn or difficult a pet might be, they all deserve a chance; and with patience and love, they can become the best versions of themselves but they can’t do it without you!

Good Deeds

Here at PetFlow, we do our best to give back and actively do so through our Good Deeds program. It’s not always easy to help, as much as we wish we could, so we want to make things easier for everyone to give back. We’re happy to help many shelters and animals in need by donating a bowl of food with each order shipped. So whether you are able to help by adopting a new friend, volunteering, donating, buying food from us, or even just spreading the word, these little friends will be forever grateful for your contribution!

Help a pet in need

Our local shelters here in Las Vegas, The Animal Foundation and the NSPCA are great participating shelters in the aid of helping animals in need. Look into a participating shelter near you to find your new best friend.
